Product Description

A humble masseur and gambler, Zatoichi wanders the countryside of Japan, going from town to town plying his trade and rolling the dice. With a kind heart and lethal sword skills, he is protector of the innocent and the ruin of wicked men.

A pop culture icon since his screen debut in 1962, Zatoichi (played by Shintaro Katsu) was a matinee favorite throughout the 1960s. After a dozen years and 25 films, the blind swordsman transitioned to the small screen in 1974 in the series, "Zatoichi Monogatari."

Overall : An outstanding addition to anyones Zatoichi collection. As a lifelong Zatoichi fan and owner of all the 25 original movies and TV series you have to own this one! Besides, it's Takeshi Kitano and you can't go wrong !

Overall : If you enjoy blood shed, or samurai films or anything of that sort you should at the least see this movie, but hell buying it is isn't much more than renting it so i suggest going for the purchase.

Overall : I really enjoyed this dvd. A friend had it I only wish I could have seen it all. But I think I shall once I have purchased this dvd!! A really wonderfully done samurai movie. I see where Kill Bill's inspiration came from.

Overall : The only bad thing about this title (and I'm being picky here) is the phony looking CG blood. other than that its a great revival of this series.
